Ganieda College houses the educational dimensions that extend from professional practice and services, as outlined in Integral Medicine and in the books published within Ganieda Press.
A college consists of a body of colleagues with common interests, functions and privileges. Although initially and primarily in an educational format, Ganieda College extends these functions into a residential, ritual and ceremonial context.
Kennan's experience at various formal colleges, both school and university, is that a college fundamentally provides a setting for the appreciation of the soul and its journey through life. The various educational and ritual maps used at Ganieda support this journey. The maps employed move through the relevant fields of medicine, psychology, sexuality and spirituality.
Ganieda College provides the above material in two major intersecting themes:
PSYCHOTIQUE
Psychotique undertakes the exploration of the soul, distinct from its modern definition in psychology and quite separate from any psychiatric classification.
The mental stresses and turbulances are more truly seen as the fluctuations and vicissitudes of the soul in its expression and are more appropriately explored in an imaginative and spiritual context through ritual, creativity and deeper personal exploration.
VOLUPTAS
Daughter of 'soul' and 'eros', Voluptas is the goddess of pleasure and bliss. It is in this context that we view sexuality in its wider definition as psychosexuality.
There is much work yet to do in the reintegration of sexuality within the Western psyche and the individual soul and its manifestation in relationship, marriage and family. It is this reintegration process that Voluptas seeks to explore.
Well, that's the background in the context of Ganieda College; but how does this translate in terms of educational delivery?
Lecture & Seminar
This is the formal delivery of particular subjects and topic matter to the seriously interested.
Workshop
The introduction of practical, interactive and ritual approaches to the above.
Residential Retreat
While both the above are transportable modes of delivery and therefore not confined to one location,
Ganieda Sanctuary serves for the specific delivery of the more extensive work that only a
residential process can provide.
At Ganieda the interactive group process is extended and deepened, such that the topic under enquiry can be instilled and move within the participant; from here to radiate out into their lives in a creative and transformative manner.
